Beware of Faulty Product

Batteries do not come with the item, I put in two Duracells marked for expiring in March 2031. The clock started to heat up exponentially and smelling. I touched the back of the clock where the vents are and it was warm as well as the battery cover. I open the battery cover and touched the batteries and they somehow became extremely hot to the touch. I quickly yanked the batteries out, the last thing I need is a battery fire. So far it has been over 5 minutes and the batteries are still hot to the touch.
